Grafton through Generations
In 1964, Esteban Grafton and his wife, Carmen, opened a small re-upholstery shop in Miami, Florida. She would sew, he would upholster, and together, they built Grafton Furniture. They obtained a contract with Burdines-Macy’s in the early 1970’s, and business flourished. Shortly after, their son, Steve Grafton Jr., learned the art of upholstery and decided to take the company’s sales to the next level. In late 1986, Steve and his wife, Mary, opened a showroom in the Design Center of the Americas. Steve’s reputation as a highly qualified, custom manufacturer to the trade spread quickly. Interior designers from all over South Florida turned to Grafton for some of the best upholstery and cabinetry work in the industry. The next big move for Grafton Furniture occurred in 2015, when the company was featured on CNBC’s “The Profit”, starring entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis. Steve and Marcus partnered up to take the company to the next level and are currently preparing for the next generation of the family business. Our company has risen from humble beginnings to working out of a 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art production facility and a brand new design lab. We take pride in providing our clients and design professionals with the most versatile, custom-crafted upholstery and cabinetry — all made in the USA. Come take a tour of our facilities, have a cafecito, say hi to the family, and see for yourself how the American Dream is our reality.
